MELTED snow and heavy rain contrived to leave the majority of local soccer and rugby players kicking their heels last weekend.
Football was worst affected with Bourton Rovers being denied action by a flooded Rissington Road pitch, while only two fixtures in the Stratford and District Alliance surviving the elements.
Chipping Norton Rugby Club's game at Thatcham was another victim of the weather but the second team managed some action at Greystones where they recorded a 49-7 win over Gosford All Blacks.
Stow and Shipston's players were also in action, while an extra 24 hours and the strong wind dried up the majority of soccer pitches to enable a full Evesham Sunday League programme to go ahead.
