Brainwave stops flying trick going down the Pan!

AN amateur dramatic society is promising those attending its forthcoming performances of Peter Pan will believe a boy can fly, even though it has been unable to afford the expensive flying rig to actually create the illusion.

Shipston Amateur Dramatic Society is staging an ambitious family panto based on J M Barrie's classic play at the Townsend Hall in Shipston, starting tonight at 7.30pm until Saturday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Wardrobe mistress Gerlinde Gray said each flying rig for the six cast members who need to "fly" would have cost £1,000.

As a result, director Helen Morgan and her colleagues had come up with an ingenious way round the problem. "You have to come to the play and find out how we're going to do it," she said.

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for children and concessions, from Wyntors in the High Street or at the door.
