Stanley and Moss help Athletic gather points

CROWN Athletic moved out of the re-election zone in Division Four of the Evesham Sunday League after hitting eight past Cider Mill.

Moss and Mark Stanley netted trebles with further goals from Phil Stanley and Tomkotowicz helping the winners record their biggest win of the season.

Bretforton Old Boys stayed on track for promotion with victory at Riverside, where Daryl Mitchell scored twice. A Dave Hunting double, meanwhile, helped Ashton overcome Bengeworth Sports.

Golden Cross took the honours in the third division promotion clash with Broadway United Reserves as a first half strike from James separated the teams.

Crowle recorded a valuable win at Moreton Town who appear unable to carry their cup form into league matches.

A Matt Davies hat-trick took Pershore Town to the top of Division Two after victory over Mountinneers.

Goals from Beddoes and Flint kept Red Horse in touch with the leaders as they defeated Bredon, while Defford and Besford proved too strong for Broadway with goals from Croy (2), Thomas, Coombes, Barton and Summers.

Offenham Rovers remain top of Division One after goals from Sollis and Leeming proved enough to defeat Evesham WMC.

Doubles from Jon Gregory and Neil Annis saw Ambassador and Upton Snodsbury share four goals, while Bear overcame Mickleton Rangers with goals from Greenwood and Moss. Danny Taylor replied for the losers.

Peopleton progressed in the Evesham Mechanical Services Subsidiary Cup after a 4-2 penalty shoot-out win over Shipston Excelsior. A Redding double helped Hampton WMC past Oddfellows Arms.
