Evesham Utd Robins U-10 1
ROBINS maintained their 100 per cent league record on a day when both sides played good attacking football.
The match was decided by a goal from Josh Downey, who fired the ball into the top corner.
Peopleton pressed hard for an equaliser, but they were unable to break down a defence in which Scott Andrews was in outstanding form.
United play host to Blockley on Saturday, knowing a couple more wins could seal the league title.
Evesham Utd U-10s 9,
Warndon Village Beavers 1
A SOLID all-round team performance saw Evesham edge closer to the league title.
Goalkeeper Leon Ballard was called into action early on, tipping over a looping shot.
Louis Brown almost opened the scoring when a powerful header from Sam Ford's corner flashed narrowly over the bar, but it was a measured pass from Brown that saw Ford slot home to take the lead.
Brown himself made it 2-0 just before the interval after good work by Henry Woods.
A change in formation paid off when both Ford and Brown netted. The former then completed his hat-trick after Woods and George Darling sent him clear.
Ford reciprocated and set up Woods to score with a volley. The scorer then crossed for Ford to control and score his fourth, before himself completing his brace when Darling set him up.
A deflected strike gave Warndon consolation before Ford's pass enabled Darling to round off the scoring.
Evesham Utd 0, Vale Wdrs U-13 8
ARRON Hartwell opened the scoring with a well-taken goal, before Tom Waghorn made it 2-0 when he proceeded to take the ball from his own half and beat the whole home defence before rounding the keeper to score.
The second half saw much of the same and, although Evesham had their chances, it wasn't long before Roberto Vernaschi fired home.
He went on to complete his hat-trick inside the first ten minutes of the half.
Alfie Sutton then scored from an acute angle and Matthew Ross added the seventh. Hartwell rounded off a great personal display with his second and Vale's eighth.
Easington Spts 5,
Evesham Utd U-13 4
EVESHAM followed in this week's trend of playing in a match where one team comes back from a deficit, but unfortunately they were on the wrong end of the defeat.
Evesham were coasting at 4-1 ahead at half-time with David Huggins scoring twice and Joe Ford and Jordan Shelton adding the others.
Despite an early second half goal by the opposition, United were still in the ascendancy at 4-2 but the next goal was always going to be significant.
It came the home side's way and Evesham were always on the back foot as they lost out in a thriller.
Dunnington Rgrs B 7, Ilmington 0
RANGERS maintained their superb form with Arthur Bennett scoring his side's 100th league goal of the season.
The hosts posted another fine result after spurning numerous early chances.
Felix Chadwick opened the scoring with a superb solo effort and Michael Bennett made it 2-0 following an excellent midfield interchange with Charles Hamblett.
Dunnington's free flowing football saw them score four times in a matter of minutes after the restart with James McMillan, Adam Lee and Bennett (2)on target.
Player of the Match Kieran Downey completed the scoring in the closing minutes.
Evesham Utd 2, Southside A 0
A CIERAN Gilbert pass put Michael Savidge in and he kept a cool head to slot home the opener.
Evesham defended their lead well with Ben Davison in superb form.
Two great saves from Jordon Willis kept Evesham in the lead but they sensed victory and it was Dave Thompson who grabbed the crucial second to put the winners into the semi-finals of the cup.
Evesham Utd U-10 3,
Dunnington Rgrs 2
TIM di Franco snatched a late winner as United secured a hard-fought triumph.
The same player had earlier opened the scoring before Jonathan Hudson levelled for Rangers.
Adam Boycott made it 2-1 with a blistering shot in an eventful second period that saw Harry Naylor grab a fine equaliser for Dunnington.
However, di Franco popped up to bag the winner and Evesham held on despite a late flurry of opposition attacks.
Bidford U-8 4, Bretforton 5
A SOLID team display was the key to Bretforton's success.
Two goals from William Icke were cancelled out before half-time after which Bidford took the lead only for Ashley Icke to make it 3-3.
Guy Border scored Bretforton's fourth but, despite fine play from sweeper Jack Hair, Bidford grabbed the game's eighth goal.
It was left to Toby Wheeler to fire in what proved to be the winner at the end of a see-saw tussle.
Bidford U-9 2, Bretforton 6
A HAT-TRICK from Luke Richardson helped Bretforton take a 4-1 interval advantage.
Sophie Dell and Jess Newman were in mean mood in defence, while Ryan Smith joined Richardson on the scoresheet.
The goal hero quickly made it 5-1 early in the second half before Jake Winol came out of goal to show is outfield qualities with Bretforton's sixth that was followed by a late consolation for the defeated hosts.
