Police aim to ease fears

POLICE in Shipston are hoping to ease concerns about the level of police activity in the town by communicating with locals.

The town's officers have agreed to write a regular column in the town's Shipston Forum newsletter.

As reported in the Journal last month, a town councillor expressed concern that the police presence in the town was inadequate.

Gudrun Berry, chairman of regeneration body Stour Power, said she hoped the new column would improve matters.

"Our beat officers on the ground have a feeling that a lot of people don't know what they are doing," she said.
