New church proves to be a real high-flyer

MEMBERS of Stour Valley Baptist Church wished themselves a happy birthday last Saturday, when they released 100 balloons to mark their fifth anniversary.

The church, which was established as an offshoot of Chipping Campden Baptist Church, meets every Sunday at Shipston High School and has seen its membership almost double since it was founded.

Pastor the Rev Daniel Pulham said: " I'm very much aware that many church 'plants' simply fail to take root. We don't take for granted what's happened here in Shipston.

"It's about continuing to let people know we are around as a church and making people aware that they are welcome to come along and check us out."
