Campden double

Evesham and District League

MONDAY saw the Lygon Arms take on Campden RBL in a rearranged match at Campden.

After some good shooting the home team took the points winning 274-272 with Brian Wright and Willy Haines both scoring 47 for the winners and for the Lygon Craig Whiting, Pete Whiting and Keith Harris also scoring a 47.

This result should have helped Stanton Club in their efforts to take second place in the league but they also shot Campden RBL on Wednesday and Campden completed the double over the teams in second and third place, winning 277-271 with Bob Pitcher scoring a 49 for Campden and Paul Busson scoring the same for Stanton.

Top team Offenham RBL easily won by 15 points over Badsey RBL to extend their lead at the top, the score being 284-269 with Steph Anderson high scoring for Offenham with a 49 and for Badsey Barry Davies scored a 47.
