Playful and dark drama at Swan

A DARK and playful drama at the Swan Theatre in Worcester will get to the bottom of whether it is wicked to submit to extreme desires or more destructive to keep a lid on them.

The Bad One, inspired by Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, tells the story of a poor, orphaned girl called Jackie who lives with her grandmother in a large house at the edge of town.

Sometimes she doesn't mind feeling lonely, but other times she feels great emptiness and yearns for the company of another girl.

The Bad One is written by and stars stand-up comedian Janice Connolly and takes place at the Swan next Thursday at 7.30pm and tickets cost £10.

At Huntingdon Hall next Thursday, The Fortunes and The Ivy League will present a 60s night of their own hit records and other classic songs.

The Fortunes' hits include You've Got Your Troubles, I've Got Mine, Here It Comes Again and This Golden Ring, while The Ivy League are best known for Funny How Love Can Be, And That's Why I'm Crying and Tossing and Turning.

The show starts at 8pm and tickets cost £14.

Next Friday, infamous couple Neil and Christine Hamilton will be giving a talk at the Swan Theatre.

Neil, a former Conservative MP, and Christine, a television presenter and author, have become known for their witty talks about their life in the spotlight. The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets are priced £15.

At Huntingdon Hall the same night, Feast of Fiddles will take to the stage on their 11th anniversary tour for a show which mixes passion, humour, virtuosity and huge dynamic range.

The established line-up of fiddlers will be joined by guests along the tour.
