STOW Girl Guides unit has been suspended after its leader had to give up the job last month.
The unit, which had been active in Stow for more than 80 years, was only restarted last spring after being suspended a couple of years earlier.
Now the seven girls who belong to the unit have been offered the chance to join other units in the area.
Kathryn Mitchell, who is a young leader for the 16-strong 1st Stow Brownie pack, said: "The previous leader was no longer able to commit the time that's necessary.
"We haven't found anyone able to go through the training."
A new leader needs to be able to give up about two hours a week for the weekly Tuesday evening meeting at Stow Baptist Church, said Kathryn.
"If we could find another leader we would be happy to support them until they could be on their own," she added.
Kathryn's mum, Anne, who is Brown Owl with the Brownies, said: "What is so sad is we have 10 Brownies coming along who will be 10 in the next year and would go to the Guides normally." Anyone interested in the job should contact Anne Mitchell on 01451 831294. Stow Brownies are taking part in World Thinking Day this Sunday when they think about the family of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world.
