Herbert effort a clincher

Bourton Rovers Res 3,

Northway Res 2

A STUNNING last minute volley from centre forward Paul Herbert ensured that Bourton's 100 per cent record for 2004 stayed intact.

Four of the afternoon's five goals came in a frantic final ten minutes that saw the Rissington Roaders claim maximum Cheltenham league Division Three points.

After a well controlled first half that saw Bourton leading courtesy of Kevin Hunt's strike, the home side were twice pegged back before Herbert's strike won the game at the death.

Northway's initial equaliser came from a header from the centre half, but Adrian Habbitts restored the home side's lead with another header before once again Northway hit back with a stunning free-kick.

The win keeps Bourton pressing hard for runners-up spot in the table.
