Leaders leapfrogged as Horse hit summit

RED Horse moved to the top of Evesham Sunday League Division Two after Sunday's three-goal victory over Defford and Besford when Harris, Flint and Stride found the net.

Former leaders Pershore Town dropped valuable points as they were held by bottom club Badsey Rec. Jamie Andrews scored for Pershore with 50-year-old veteran Steve Bradley on target for the Rec.

Broadway United Reserves moved into second place in Division Three after a second half strike from Russell Hawtree took the points at Norgren.

Carlo Georgio hit a hat-trick for Queens in their win at Crowle, while Tewkesbury Town won at Pebworth with goals from Heath (2), Kavanagh and Watts - a result that means Pebworth are relegated.

Division Four Cider Mill gained a welcome win at home to Bengeworth Sports with Taylor, Prater and Attwood on target.

Wickhamford continued their good run as two goals from Graeme Hay helped defeat Riverside who replied through Waterhouse.

Evesham WMC secured their top flight status coming from behind to defeat Willersey. The visitors had led at the break through an Andy Beale double before goals from Williams (2), Sollis and Haughty swung the game round.

A Dave McManus goal straight from a corner with a little help from the home goalkeeper gave Upton Snodsbury the points at Mickleton Rangers.

Ambassador booked their place in the last four of the Tewkesbury Sports Knockout Cup as second half goals from Crawford, Schembri, Whelan and Davis helped see off Inkberrow.

Ashton upset Moreton Town to progress in the Evesham Mechanical Services Subsidiary Cup when goals from James and Baker carried the Division Four team through.

Favourites Offenham Rovers won at Bretforton Old Boys with goals from Burrows, Sollis and Tustin.
