Economics of the madhouse?

ECONOMICS? Huh! I use the concessionary parking tickets in Evesham - worth in 2003 - £40.

New parking charges have doubled - therefore I only get half the previous value.

I use the car parks twice per week - using two one-hour tickets each time. This now equals £2 per week.

During those times I visit a lot of the local High Street shops and spend money.

With the new charges and no concessionary tickets, my habits will have to change. I will now only visit town once per week, using the free supermarket car park.

I will only shop at this supermarket, with a quick visit to the library and pet shop. Any further purchases will be made at out of town shops. I am sure I will not be the only one to do this. Result - loss of income to the High Street shops/market and cafeterias, possibly resulting in closures.

Remember, Wychavon, the tourist season is nearly upon us - unless, of course, the tourists go elsewhere also! Wychavon and economics? Huh!
