A WINCHCOMBE town councillor has called for street lighting to be put along Vineyard Street in the town.
Her comments follow an accident in the road during the Christmas holidays, when an elderly man visiting the area went for a walk along the street.
The man, who was in his mid-70s, crossed the road and, thinking he was stepping off the pavement, fell three feet into the void alongside the pavement.
Councillor Judith Pugh, who has recently moved to Vineyard Street, said: "It needs to be lit properly, not only from an accident point of view but also for security."
