Artists delighted with move to new exhibition venue

THE move to a new venue has proved a real success for members of Tewkesbury Arts Society.

Their summer exhibition is being held, for the first time, in the Methodist Church Hall at the Cross.

The bright, airy building proved an ideal setting for the colourful mix of traditional and modern paintings and drawings that make up the display.

There is a wide range of local talent on show, from the cheery little figures painted by Mary Davies, to the exquisite painted and embroidered silks by Brenda Perkins.

Local scenes abound with several charming views of Mill Bank, but some have travelled further afield for their inspiration.

Ruth Chamberlain has painted a wonderfully rich Venetian Sunset and a detailed picture of Little Malvern Court.

Most of the paintings are for sale and for those looking for art at even lower cost many have been reproduced as cards. The exhibition runs until tomorrow.
