Youngsters crown series success with more catches

Evesham and District Association Junior and Intermediate Club

CROWN Meadow was the venue for the Journal River Series featuring the eight Monday night series winners when Simon Pickering, Jack Norledge and Mark Rogers ran out section winners.

Matt Smith and Will Beasley topped the standings in the La Sirene Cup fished at Manor Farm Leisure's Middle Pool, ahead of tomorrow's match at the same venue, draw 9am, fishing 10am-3pm.

Results - River Series (Under-12s): 1 J Norledge 148pts. Juniors: 1 S Pickering 131; 2 W Beasley 131; 3 Duncan Field 128; 4 Jamie Harvey 120. Intermediates: 1 M Rogers 109; 2 Jason Cooke 108. Evesham and District Disabled Club & Partnership's

MEMBERS fishing round nine of the Wooffs Summer League last Sunday enjoyed an enjoyable day out spoilt only by the weather that turned wet towards the finish.

Bill Scarrott led the club home with a winning weight of 22.8.0 to edge out Jerry Ackerman (18.10.0).

Fishing on the next peg was the third-placed angler Anthony Icke with 17.8.0 and in fourth was Rita Barnett who placed 15.1.0 on the scales.

This Sunday's match is to be fished at Tunnel Barn, Shrewley and members who have booked in and are unsure of the directions are asked to meet at the old post office in the High Street ready to leave at 7am.

Evesham WMC

FISHING the Jubilee Lake, Stuart Robinson led the way with 29.12.0 of carp caught on bread and pole with one fish weighing seven pounds.

Vic Woods was second with 27.4.0 of small carp on the pole and pellet, with in third, again on the pole and pellet, Keith Locke (17.6.0).

The knockout team will fish Manor farm on Saturday, draw at 9am, while the next club match is at Cropthorne on Sunday (7am).

Evesham and District Association

THE Tom Pitcher Memorial Trophy will be fished on Towns Water on Saturday, September 11 and details are available from local tackle shops.

Stewards working at the Evesham Festival over the Bank Holiday weekend are asked to confirm their attendance with chairman Ray Woods.

Evesham Jubilee Society

THERE will be a Severn Shield match on the new WDUAA Waters at Lincolm on Sunday.

Anglers are asked to meet at the river bridge at Holt Fleet at 6.45am when they will receive directions to the venue.
