Skips turn on heat in Vale victory

THE South Warwickshire Association defeated South Vale BA by 25 shots at Bidford earlier this month.

The winning side's highest winning rink contained Ron Walmsley, Reg Cook, Mike Kelly and skip Ian Wilkins, while other successful skips were Steve Johnson, Bernard Kendry, Dave Kerby and Derek Both.

Leamington Avenue BC was the venue for a game against the English Fire Service BA who recorded a comfortable victory by 38 shots.

The SWBA were level at 23-23 after five ends but then never got back in contention as the Fire Service extinguished all hopes of another triumph.

Only two home rinks were successful with Les Smith, Tony Laurens, Tony Wright and Henry Gardner boasting the best win alongside Malcolm Allen's rink victory.
