A LOCAL representative in next year's English Women's Bowling Association National Championships was assured when Broadway's Sue Davies and Little-ton's Sue Hemming clashed in the county final.
The champion ladies from 24 Worces-tershire clubs locked horns and it was Davies who emerged victorious from last Sunday's final to become Champion of Champions.
She will now test her wits at Leamington in 2005 alongside the champions of counties from all over England.
There was disappointment for Broadway, however, when they visited Suffolk Square in the first regional round of the Top Club Competition.
The Worcestershire winners faced Bristol opponents Kingswood and Hanham in the four-discipline event that saw Joan Clarke get the Cotswolds club off to a good start with a two-shot triumph.
The Triples then recorded victory by the same margin and a win for the pairs or rinks would guarantee progress. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be as the pairs lost by seven shots and the rinks by eight and shot difference meant that the Gloucestershire side prevailed.
