A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a Broadway man who failed to turn up at court to be sentenced for harassing an Earl's daughter.
Stephen Adamson, aged 43, was to have been dealt with by Cheltenham magistrates for breaching a restraining order imposed on him after he bombarded Lady Rosalthe Rundall with letters and phone calls.
Adamson has always maintained he was having a Lady Chatterley style relationship with solicitor's wife, Lady Rosalthe, after she turned him down for a cleaning job at her Cotswold home.
On Monday, when Adamson, of Bridgemans Close, did not show up at the court to be dealt with for breaching the restraining order by sending her another letter the magistrates finally lost patience with him and ordered his arrest.
He had missed several earlier hearings of his case, claiming he could not afford the fare to court.
Last Thursday when he did attend court, the magistrates said they were considering having him electronically tagged and confined to his home for 12 hours a day as a punishment for the breach of order.
The case was then adjourned for checks to be made to ensure that a curfew order and electronic tagging would be acceptable to his landlord.
But when the case was called at 2.40pm on Monday defence solicitor Howard Ogden said Adamson had not appeared and it had not been possible to contact him.
The case was finally to have been dealt with on Monday but Adamson did not show up and the warrant was issued for him to be arrested and detained until he is brought before the court.
