Main's best in Wales

ADRIAN Main represented Evesham Whe-elers in the Port Talbot Wheelers 50-mile Time Trial at Glyn Neath in South Wales.

Conditions weren't favourable as the riders faced a headwind on the exposed dual carriageway but he still managed to clock a new personal best of two hours 26 minutes and 33 seconds. Walsall Road Club's Neil Peart won the event in 1.54.45.

The Wheelers' Club Prologue five-mile TT saw some excellent times recorded on a course between Toddi-ngton and Teddington in strong crosswind conditions.

Four riders clocked 25mph or faster for the short, sharp ride with young Ben Stockdale taking the honours with a time of 11 minutes and five seconds.

Other times: 2 Mike Nisbet 11.23; 3 Arja Scarsbrook 11.51; 4 Steve McGrath 11.54; 5 Adrian Main 12.23; Ivor Griff-iths 12.52; 7 Paul Stockdale 13.06; 8 Dave Purser 14.01.

It's the last race of the season at Dover's Hill next Wednesday.

This Sunday's club run is to Winchcombe, meet in the High Street for a 9am start.
