Peter's win springboard for success at Suffolk

BROADWAY'S men visited Suffolk Square in Cheltenham last Saturday when, despite only winning on one rink, they came away victorious by eight shots thanks to a comprehensive 31-11 victory by Peter Springell.

The front end of Harold Kirk and Fred Green laid solid foundations for the drawing skills of Terry Morley and Springell to overcome their opponents comfortably.

Elsewhere, Mick Aubrey managed a 20-20 draw, while other rinks only lost narrowly to give Broadway the spoils 110-102.

Little Compton were the visitors the next day and again Broadway won comfortably by 23 shots with wins on three of the five rinks.

Once again Green and Morley were each on a high winning rink. The former was three to John Chapman and helped him to a 26-11 victory while Morley helped John Oliver to a 33-18 triumph.
