Aston Somerville and Wormington WI

AT the September meeting, after a few minutes of Nicholas Clark's talk Overland to the Okavango there was a power cut. President Linda Ellis, struggled with the aid of torches to hold the business section, but just as it was decided to close the meeting the power was restored. Mr Clark resumed his talk illustrated with slides and photographs taken by his wife.

The competition was won by Dorothy Gibbs with a sunset photograph of a hot air balloon over Wormington.

During the business session members heard that Linda and Gill Giddy had enjoyed their taster day of rock climbing and abseiling, and tai chi. Members were reminded of the autumn group meeting and advised of the group quiz in October, group skittles, February/March and the Spring group meeting.

The next meting will on October 13 when Marion Freeman will give a talk on the History of Picture Postcards.
