Champs crash in opener

Evesham and District Airgun League

REIGNING champions Offe-nham RBL suffered a shock defeat in their opening match of the new campaign.

Visitors Badsey RBL ran out winners by a solitary point with Ian Davies the hero with a top score of 49.

Stanton Club and Badsey Rec couldn't be separated at the finish with both teams scoring 266 with both Stanton's Dave Staniforth and Ashley Green from Badsey scoring 48.

Lygon Arms were narrow winners at Campden Legion, while the week's most emphatic victors were Wickhamford SSC, who had 26 points to spare at the New Inn.

The other match resulted in a 16-point win for Nomads at Bengeworth.
