Clive claims title double

PAXFORD Garage owner Clive Wadey was in action at Mallory Park for the last round of the championships when the day's winner would be guaranteed both titles.

Wadey made a good start in the opener leading the race for four of the six laps only to be overtaken at Gerrards by Grantham's Andy Jackson.

The Cotswolds racer chased hard and drew level on the last lap at the hairpin but Jackson had the better run overtaking the tail-enders to the flag to beat Wadey by half a bike's length.

Fellow title contender Steve Cave from Liverpool finished fourth.

The second race saw Wadey make no such mistakes and led from start to finish to beat Jackson by eight seconds with Cave coming in third.

That finishing order was enough to give Wadey the Club and Overall Championship and complete a memorable season on the track.
