  • Seeing red over lights

    I KNOW loads of people are infuriated about the road through Wyre Piddle being closed. I live at Sandfields in Wyre Piddle, but I have to put up with the inconvenience of driving round the bypass. I know some people are driving through because the lights appear to change to green sometimes. But I was appalled the other day while waiting for the bus outside Sandfields, I saw three cars drive through the lights while they were on red. Anything! Be it bus, emergency vehicle or kid on a push bike could be coming over the bridge from the other end, I just hope the camera caught them and they are prosecuted for dangerous driving. Though I doubt it. Even if they did hit something or someone and kill or maim, they would probably get let off. After all in my experience it's the killed or maimed that have to prove innocence not the idiot car driver. It states in the Highway Code that it's the responsibility of the driver to look out for pedestrians etc. read more
