VICTORY for Campden Leg-ion at the Lygon Arms blew the title chase wide open.

Two points now separate the top five sides with Badsey RBL moving level on points at the summit after a six-point win against fellow title hopefuls Offenham RBL.

Campden had just one point to spare and again had Bob Pitcher to thank after his score of 48 was the best of the night and eclipsed the efforts of home duo Ian Harwood and Keith Harris.

Gordon Evans and Ian Davies matched those 47s as Badsey RBL overcame Offenham for whom Paul Lewis top scored with 48.

The Legion's neighbours at the Rec Club came close to another surprise as they only lost out to Stanton Club by three points with Ashley Green for the hosts and Alex Woodward for the winners both recording 48s.

At the other end of the table, New Inn are now four points adrift at the foot of the table
