Leon helps out in play-off bid

QUALIFIERS from the B Division in the Cotswold League were determined earlier this week when St James beat St Mary's 2-0 thanks to well-taken goals from Leon Ballard.

This ensured that the Camp-den side took at least the second play-off spot.

Later in the evening, Stow emphasised their top ranking with a 5-1 win over St Mary's. Birthday boy Ben Eakin scored twice as did Harry Gaden with the fifth coming from Jack Aldridge. James Girling replied for the Broadway side.

Stow were only held to a draw when Tom Russell scrambled in a Willersey equaliser to match Eakin's earlier effort.

In the fourth match of the night, Willersey and St Mary's fought out another 1-1 draw with goals from Girling and Josh Needham.

There's final action in the D Division next Tuesday when any of the three sides, Treding-ton, Swell and Temple Guiting B could take the qualifying spot.
