School's new honour

CHIPPING Campden School has been named by education inspectors as among the best in Britain.

In a report to Parliament, the school was named as one of only 45 out of 566 secondary schools inspected in the last year worthy of special mention.

In his annual report to MPs, Ofsted chief David Bell said the school was "particularly successful in providing high quality education and ensuring that their pupils achieve very well."

Head teacher Jeff Price said it was not the first time the school had been singled out for praise. "It was a great feeling six years ago to have this national recognition but even better to receive it again, even thought the goalposts are changing all the time.

"We are one of the first schools in the area to be inspected recently under the new and far more demanding criteria.

"Therefore to still do well enough to be mentioned in the annual report for a second time testifies to the hard work and commitment of the entire school.

"We have fantastic, supportive parents who appreciate all that we do for their children."
