CHIPPING Campden Women's Institute has celebrated its 80th anniversary as members look forward to a packed year of events.
The 65-strong group is still going strong in the town and organises golfing days, trips, skittles evenings, holidays and regular meetings.
It also helps good causes, with recent donations going to the Ellen Badger Hospital in Shipston and the Cobalt Appeal at Cheltenham Hospital.
Members also keep themselves busy knitting for Feed the Children's Jumpers for Joy Appeal and they recently sent 428 jumpers to youngsters in poverty-stricken countries.
Club president Ann Yates said a thriving WI group was a great asset to any community. "It still has a very important place in society - there must a lot of women out there who could benefit from getting involved in our group."
Among the plans for the coming year is a week-long trip to Switzerland.
