Bag snatcher strikes twice

POLICE are linking the theft of a woman's handbag in Bourton with an attempted snatch in Stow.

In the first incident a woman reported that her handbag had been stolen in a shop on Riverside.

Although she could not give the police a description of the suspect, she said she had noticed a man behaving suspiciously in the shop at lunchtime on Tuesday.

About an hour later police received another report from a woman who said she had seen off an attempted theft in Digbeth Street in Stow.

She described two men to police. One was in his late 20s, about 5ft 8ins with spiky brown hair. The other was stocky, swarthy looking and with stubble. Both men were wearing bomber jackets.

Anyone with information is asked to call Stow police on 0845 0901234.
