Lights are out

THE owner of Hassan Balti Restaurant in Moreton has bowed to pressure to remove spotlights from the front of his business.

Cotswold District Council had threatened Abdul Mukith with prosecution if he did not get rid of the offending lighting.

Members of the council's planning regulatory committee were set to rule on Wednesday last week that Mr Mukith be taken to court for not complying with a listed building enforcement notice.

However, just two days before the meeting the lights had been removed.

Council officer John Graville confirmed that the threat of prosecution had now been withdrawn.
