ONE junior champion, six gold medals, seven silver and 12 bronze was the incredible haul for Tewkesbury Swimming Club at block two of the Gloucestershire ASA Championships.
The club sent 29 swimmers ranging in age from nine through to 17 and they recorded 59 personal best times over the weekend.
For the boys, Chris Yoxall led the way and was crowned Junior Champion in the boys' 200m breaststroke 15 years and over to complete a tremendous weekend that saw him take one gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
Ashley Dougan increased his haul of medals with two bronze and one silver, silver coming in the boys 15/16 years 200m backstroke. Craig Skinner took three bronze and one silver medal in the boys 9/10 50m breastroke. Lewis Cole took a further two bronze medals and Rob Hunt took the final bronze medal for the boys.
For the girls, new recruit Jessica Rogers led the way with an exceptional time of 2:27.52 (an age best time in the county) and gold medal in the girls 12/13 200m backstroke. She then followed it up with a further four gold medals as she dominated her age group. Not to be outdone, sister Emma Rogers went on to take gold in the girls 17 years and over 200m backstroke and a further bronze medal.
Harriet Parker had another great weekend with one bronze and two silver medals and Shevaun Pocock added a further two silver. Laura Kentfield took the other silver medal and the tally was completed when Jessica Bayliffe took the final bronze medal.
"Medals galore and more to come," is the prediction of head coach Lee Mallinson. "Tewkesbury has a strong swimming club that the town can be proud of."
