IT was like saying goodbye to one of the family when Sam Boulter watched as a bubble car was removed from the garden of his home in Honeybourne where it had been for about 40 years.
Mr Boulter had to get rid of the car from the garden in Honeybourne Road because he faces the prospect of having to leave the house owned by Evesham and Pershore Housing Association where his family lived since it was built.
Mr Boulter, aged 52, explained: "I have lived in the house all my life, latterly with my brother, David, aged 65, who has unfortunately died and as the rent card was in his name I am having to leave.
"It will be a bit of a wrench to leave the house the family has had for so long.
"The Izetta 300 belonged to David who drove it when he first had it then when it went wrong he parked it in the front garden where it has been for the past 40 years and had become quite a landmark in the village street."
Now the car, along with the original log book and number plates, has gone to the home of a collector.
