Fired-up Dragons claim win

CAMPDEN Dragons featured in an exciting floorball tournament in Cheltenham.

The first match was against Phantoms when, despite Josh Baker saving a total of 29 shots, they were defeated 11-0. Patrick Jeffs was named player of the match.

The second game against the Grantham Gladiators saw Aris Alexiou, assisted by Jason Beasley, give the Dragons an early boost.

However, their opponents again proved too strong at the end of a match in which player of the match Baker was again in fine from with another string of saves.

The Campden side showed their true colours in the third match against the Hawks.

Jason Beasley scored the first goal thanks to help from Mick Beasley in the opening ten seconds.

The Dragons then went from strength to strength and Alexiou added another couple with help from Jason Beasley.

George Richards scored another goal after good work from Sam Needham, before Jeffs another with assistance from Alexiou.

The pressure was then on the Dragons, though, as they trailed by a single goal as the final whistle approached.

Mickey Beasley popped up with an equaliser and the determined Cotswolds side then sealed an 8-7 victory when Beasley struck again in the very last second.

The Dragons are next in action at a tournament in Stratford.
