COTSWOLD District Council is to take over the running of the Cotswold School's new Astroturf pitch.
The Bourton school had the pitch laid after receiving funding from the Government's New Opportunities Fund last year.
As well as being used by the school, the pitch, which is next to the district council's leisure centre, will also be available for the public.
A report, which went before the council's cabinet at a meeting last week, said: "With reception staff on hand during all opening hours to take bookings for the leisure centre's facilities, an additional facility will add little additional work for staff.
"The community will appreciate having a single point for the booking of leisure facilities on the site and this arrangement would also ensure that bookings would not be missed due to inquiries being made out of school hours."
In return for managing the bookings for the facility, the council will retain the income generated by community use.
Hourly charges for the pitch are £40 an hour for adult use and £25 an hour for juniors. Rates for half pitches or half-hour uses are also available.
For more information call the leisure centre on 01451 824024.
