PARISH COUNCIL: The monthly meeting was held in King Georges Hall.

Gloucestershire County Council is yet to reply to letters sent by the clerk, regarding overgrown hedges around the village, the absence of a single white line at the junction of Mill Bank and Chapel Lane, the dangers of Pages Corner and why the pavement alongside the Butchers Arms was not resurfaced at the same time as Chapel Lane. The county will be contacted again.

The cemetery gates have been repaired but as yet not rehung.

Public time: As yet there have been no repairs carried out to repair broken crosses and laid down gravestones in the churchyard.

In reply to a parishioner who said that the churchyard appears to have been recently vandalised and showing councillors photographs he had taken, Cllr M Stowe replied that as a representative to the parish council he had inspected all the graves and those that were leaning, unstable or had crosses that were wobbly, he had removed or laid down for safety sake, and that they were on schedule to be repaired. Cllr L Stowe added that recently other parish councils had undertaken work to make safe all gravestones in their cemeteries.

The financial statement was agreed to and the Hedgehog Bus Society would receive £200 again towards running costs.

District councillor Sue Jepson said all residents should be receiving their green bins for the collection of green garden waste on Monday.

The annual spring clean of the Cotswolds takes place in March/April. Gloves, bags etc will be provided and bags will be collected after a phone call is made.

County councillor Julie Girling announced a rate increase of 3.9 per cent and that completion of the sale of land for houses, to provide money for the new primary school would be taking place shortly.

The timetable board on the bus shelter has been damaged. Investigations will be made to which company put up the board and they will be asked to place the board when repaired inside the shelter.

The spring cleaning programme will be set in motion if public help can be sought; only one councillor showed an interest.

The mobile police van will be in Chapel Lane on Monday.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday, March 30 at 7pm followed by the AGM at 8pm.
