Parking frustrations

LIVING in Evesham town centre, I am frustrated by the lack of available parking for residents.

Being on Mill Street, I pay over £200 per year to Wychavon for a private parking space. This is obviously in addition to my council tax. I do not believe Wychavon should be using residents dire need for parking as a way of generating more revenue.

It is particularly irritating in view of the fact that there used to be free places to park near here, on the former tannery on Mill Side, before it was sold to developers.

I believe that all residents in town without parking facilities should be provided with a free parking permit. There are spaces available in the car parks around town, for example in Cowl Street and the council offices on Swan Lane.

Householders should not be penalised for requiring places to park their cars.
