Young actors in debut show

MEMBERS of a Vale drama group featuring budding actors are preparing to stage their debut productions.

The red banana drama theatre and film school was launched last October as an after-school activity for five to 16-year-olds. Headed by professional film and theatre experts Kerry Boorman and Rebecca Hardy, the group now has 50 members and is proving a great success.

The performances have been scripted by the women, taking ideas contributed by the children during sessions. Kerry added: "The script gives each child a similar amount of time on stage with a similar amount of lines. We believe this is a more effective and equal way of working with the children. They all get their moment."

The shows, including The Aesop's Fables...Humanised!, is due to take place at Dumbleton Village Hall tomorrow at 6.30pm. For more information contact Kerry on 07740 429646.
