THERE was no screaming and shouting after defeat at Yate last weekend and Evesham United manager Dave Busst is confident his players can get their championship chase back on course, writes Mervyn Collins.
"They are the same bunch of players who have got us in this position and I see no reason why they can't go on and see it through to the end. We're certainly not going to panic," the Common Road chief admitted.
"There's not a team in the league that we aren't capable of beating but the players let themselves and others connected with the club down last Saturday.
"We didn't deserve to be two goals down at half-time and had four good chances to get us in a good position. Unfortunately, you can't legislate for the error that Tim made for the second goal and we never really got going in the second half."
Busst will be hoping that Steve Duncan can shake off his ankle problem ahead of Saturday's trip to fellow promotion rivals Clevedon Town and there could also be a recall for Stuart Hamilton who rested his niggly hamstring problem at Yate.
"We've missed Stevie more than anyone but we've got more than adequate cover at the back," Busst admitted.
Lee Knight had stitches in a gash on his leg last Saturday, while Steven Hands was complaining of a rib injury after the setback.
"We've got a tough four matches ahead of us but promotion is still in our own hands and we've got to remain focussed," the United manager declared.
"We were a bit lacking in workrate and commitment at Yate and we've got to ensure we get that right at Clevedon. It's a big game for both clubs and our first priority is to make sure that we avoid defeat."
