Reshuffle gives ttable toppers lift

Chipping Norton 2,

Moreton Rgrs U-13 6

SUNDAY saw Rangers extend their winning streak to 15 matches and maintain their position at the top of the Witney League table.

Although Rangers didn't display any real fluency, things went according to plan initially thanks to a perfectly timed strike from Callum Millard and a sweet half-volley from George Paish.

The stage was now set for the team to stage a memorable performance and they certainly did this in some style as they gave a display few will ever forget!

Some of the play was comical apart from the fact a smile was the last thing they were able to muster from the crowd.

They probably did, however, manage to muster the world record for the number of miskicks and poor control in a 30-minute period and it was no surprise when an improved Chippy side levelled 15 minutes from time.

As defeat loomed a reshuffle was required. Thankfully, this had the desired effect and Moreton began to work their way back into a game for which long periods they had been absent.

Fittingly, it was their best player on the day, Jack Ashcroft, who put them back in front and, as it turned out, shook the life blood out of the opposition.

Three quick goals followed from Dale, McPherson and Ellis to give Rangers a rather flattering 6-2 win.
