Help for women to succeed in business

COTSWOLD women are urged to take part in a subsidised course to help them become the entrepreneurs of the future.

Business Link Gloucestershire is offering an eight-week course for women in the North Cotswolds considering self-employment.

Business Link adviser Melanie Jones said: "Women consistently have great business ideas but often lack the support to turn them into a commercial reality.

"This course will give them what they will need to get their ideas off the ground.

"It is important to remove any barriers for women considering setting up their own business, so they get a clear run at success."

The course, run by trainer Sarah-Jane Menato, covers a range of subjects, from the qualities and skills necessary for running a small business, to legal and insurance requirements. The syllabus also covers how to develop good marketing and PR to promote the business.

Chipping Campden School will be the venue for the course, which will be held every Wednesday from 9.30am to 2.30pm, from May 4 until June 29.

The sessions have been designed with mothers in mind - there will a break for half-term and the early finish time gives plenty of time for school runs.

The last session in June includes a buffet lunch and networking session with local organisations as well as an opportunity to find out about potential funding opportunities.
