Eight claim medals

THE triathlon section at Stratford Sharks took part in their first event of the year at the Warwick Aquathlon - part of the West Midlands Junior Series.

With more than half the team moving up an age group this year, they all performed exceptionally well and achieved eight top three places.

In the boys Tristar Start (8-year), Edward Caswell made his debut and recorded an excellent third place.

Becky Tame was first in the girls Tristar2 (11-12) clocking the fastest swim, with third-placed Juliet Heyworth recording the fastest run.

In the equivalent boys age group, Ben Lane finished a strong second.

In the Tristar3 (13-14), Louisa Heyworth took third place to match her sister's achievement.

In the Girls Youth (15-16) section, Natalie Smith cruised to victory with Charlie Cassidy-Morris finishing second.

Sam Clark claimed the third victory of the day when winning the boys Youth section.

Lucy Tame, Imogen Cork, Jamie and Luke Headley and Tom Lane all performed well

Lucy Headley, meanwhile, was third in the Veteran Lady's class, with Sean Headley seventh in the mens veteran category.

Edward Caswell's mum Yvonne, competing for Stratford AC, was an emphatic winner in the full ladies class.
