Patience pays off as Rangers ease to win

Moreton Rgrs 3,

Deddington Colts 0

AS the season draws to its conclusion with the championship now in touching distance, each match seems to take on more importance and with that bring increased tension.

A 16th consecutive victory would all but guarantee promotion and set up a showdown against a so far undefeated Bampton.

Deddington were stubborn and durable opponents in Moreton's quest for glory.

Although having good possession up to and around their opponents' penalty box, the final ball and incisive finish was becoming elusive.

It took a clever flicked header from George Paish to break the deadlock and relieve some pressure after half-an-hour of frustration.

The second half followed much the same pattern of the first, Dedd-ington's defence was strong and clear-cut chances were at a premium.

It needed a couple of dashing runs down either flank and a ball flashed across the goalmouth that left Millard and Sherry to ghost in on the far post and gratefully help themselves to another goal apiece to give Rangers three more points.
