FUND-RAISING to improve the fabric of St Edmund's Church in Shipston is set to continue with a fashion show.
Last year supporters of the church raised £6,500 for its medieval tower with a packed calendar of fund-raising event, including two successful fashion shows that paved the way for the next event on Friday, April 29.
Models from the town and surrounding area will be showing off clothes from ladies' boutique Emel, which is opposite the church.
Ten per cent of all proceeds from the event will be used to pay for internal improvements at St Edmund's, including new carpets and a fresh lick of paint.
Organiser Susan Lewis said she hoped that the event, which starts at 7pm, would be just as successful as previous shows.
"The last one had 200 people attend, so it was a great girls' night out.
"It is strange to see a catwalk in a church, but it is great fun."
Other fund-raising events this year have included a chocolate sale, a series of lectures, a children's talent show held in conjunction with the NSPCC, a children's clothing sale and a variety evening, complete with Pearly Kings and Queens.
As well as a wide range of clothing suitable for teenagers and adults, designer breast cancer T-shirts will also be available with £5 per sale going to breast cancer research.
The event will also feature a raffle, along with wine and refreshments.
Tickets are £1 and the £2 programmes feature 'lucky-dip' numbers - a chance to win Emel vouchers or goodies.
For more information about the event, call into Emel or telephone 01608 665006.
