Henley climb to top

HENLEY retained the title in the Stratford and District Mixed Winter League after a dramatic climb up the table during the second half of the season.

It was a closely-fought tussle but the championship was secured after a 4-0 victory over previous leaders Studley A.

Newcomers Studley had a 100 per cent record in the first half of the season but they were restricted to just one more win and ended up behind newcomers Warwick Boat Club who, despite winning five of their last six matches couldn't catch the Henley side.

It was a similar story for Bidford who won their last five matches, including a win over Studley, but two 4-0 defeats against other top sides prevented them finishing higher than fourth.

Littletons finished in fifth spot just ahead of last year's runners-up Moreton-in-Marsh.
