Daniel dazzles

PLAYER of the tournament Daniel Antonelli was the inspiration as Bredon Star ran out winners of the Ledbury Sevens tournament.

Antonelli was part of the 12-strong squad, average age just 20 with only two of the side not having come through the club's junior section, that defeated Tewkesbury in the final 24-0.

Star, captained by Matt Strong, had previously overcome Pershore on their way to the final where their progress was helped by the competition's top try scorer Aaron Ballard-Ridley.

The success capped a marvellous season for the newly promoted North Midlands South One club who will celebrate their triumphs at tomorrow night's annual dinner and dance in the Village Hall.
