Baker third

TEWKESBURY Park golfer Stuart Baker finished third in last weekend's Gloucestershire Golf Union's Junior Championships at Filton.

Baker carded rounds of 76 and 70 to finish three shots behind the eventual winner Chris Wood.

The teenager was pipped for runners-up spot on countback but he had the consolation of claiming the Lewis Trophy for the best gross score by a player under 16.

Baker is back in county action at Knowle GC on Saturday for the Amateur Championship.
