COMMUTERS look set to face long tailbacks and delays as essential roadwork is carried out on a section of the Fosseway near Moreton.
The improvements, expected to take three weeks, will start from the speed restriction signs south of the town to the Longborough Junction on Tuesday.
Temporary traffic lights will be in operation for the majority of the work, but commuters will face diversions between June 13-17 and June 20-22.
Chris Franklin, divisional operations manager at Gloucestershire County Council, said: "During this project there will be some minor delays for the motorist and I would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. When completed, however, the travelling public will benefit from the road surface."
The road resurfacing is part of the county council's aim to make Gloucestershire's transport system more effective and safe. The work is due to be completed by Tuesday, June 24.
