Cutting the cost of solar heating

WITH summer now well and truly under way residents are being urged to consider cutting their fuel bills by installing a solar, hot water system.

Councils across the county are working together on the Solar Warm and Well scheme. Through the scheme, grants of up to £900 are available to homeowners towards the cost of the solar panels.

Rebecca Billington from Solar Warm and Well said: "At this time of the year a solar hot water system can provide you with 100 per cent of your hot water requirements.

A complete system would normally cost around £3,000 so our grants make solar power much more affordable."
