Campaigners go out and about

SAVE Our Hospital campaigners will be out in force this Saturday at the famous Evesham River Festival.

Members of the Friends of Evesham Community Hospital will be handing out car stickers and posters in Workman Gardens, while getting people to sign the petition.

"The idea is to make sure everyone knows about the proposed cuts at the hospital," said Evesham Mayor Cllr Frances Smith.

"There has been overwhelming support for the hospital from everyone," she added.

The chief executive of the South Worcestershire Primary Care Trust, Mike Ridley is proposing a £4m cost-cutting plan including the closure of two wards at the hospital.

He is threatening to close the Willows Stroke Unit and Bredon Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Ward.
