CRICKETERS from the North Cotswold Club based at Blockley recorded both friendly and league successes in their latest outings.
The Under-13s won at Great Tew where they could only manage 89-9 off 20 overs with Steve Larner top scoring with 16 after Ashley Spencer (13) and Nick Hudson (10) had added 30 for the first wicket.
The Oxfordshire side appeared set for a comfortable victory after their first pair had put on 74 but the game turned on a Ben Goss run-out and an over from Darrel Williams that brought four wickets without conceding any runs!
Larner was also in good form with the ball claiming three wickets for four runs as Great Tew slumped to 79 all out with Williams taking 4-5 from four overs.
The Under-17s rattled up 203-5 off their 20 overs in a friendly against Swinbrook with Matt Mitchell and Matt Williams-Ellis both retiring having recorded half-centuries and Tom Clarkson hitting 31.
Williams-Ellis then completed a superb all-round display with two cheap wickets and three wickets for the same number of runs by James Macklin helped dismiss Swin-brook for just 51.
